I’m a gamer not because I don’t have a life

I made my own characters compilation image months ago.

I’ve been asked many times.
Why do I play so many of them?
Why do I game-hop?

There are no hard rules stating that you’d have to just play some games or stick to one genre.
I have a short attention span and I get bored easily.
Once I’ve reached a certain goal in a game… whatever it may be for that particular game… I move on.
Life is too short to play too little games.
(Life is too short to play any game… for some)
But, you wouldn’t know the reasons for me gaming.
When you’ve walked in my shoes, will you be able to judge.

Anyway, always remember… everything in moderation.
UNLESS… something catches my fancy and I start getting a gaming addiction all over again… lol~ =X

Happy gaming everyone!

The Secret World

Didn’t feel like playing The Secret World after less than an hour being in there.
Maybe it would’ve been a bit better if I had stayed on and tried leveling longer but I couldn’t take it anymore.

Creating a character was a huge turn-off.
All of which looked ugly no matter what combination of face features I chose.
The slider wasn’t working well either… could it be caused by lag?.. sometimes it moves.. sometimes it doesn’t.
It was frustrating.
I wanted to just leave but decided that since it took hours to download the patch, why give up now.

The storyline was intriguing though.
I chose to be part of the Dragon cult (faction?).

Graphics are horrible.
Is it because of my computer specs or is it their engine?

It brought me into a fighting scene (overall demo) to kill evil mobs from another world with a group of other factions.

The Dragon believed in chaos, believed to bring in harmony into the world where small ripples leading to tsunamis of change aka the Butterfly Effect.

Then they allowed you to choose what kind of weapons you’d want.

A no-no.
I don’t think it should show up that way.
Oh dear~

Everyone gets to “teleport” from one place to another (different parts of the world) in a quick fashion.
Probably the nicest feature I’ve seen so far.

Then came the zombie apocalypse quest.

Which reminded me of L4D.
You could light up gas cans and whatnot.

But once I reached the Sheriff’s office, I went off to do my laundry.
When I came back to my com, it d/c me with a popup saying I idled too long.

Oh well… thanks for kicking me out.
I needed a reason to leave anyway.

From the General Chat, some people did like the game, those from the 1st 2 beta tryout and some newbies.
Content isn’t much but they did enjoy the story.. I did.. I guess that’s the only part I did like.
But I’m sure I won’t want to go through the same story too many times.
Repeatable quests that allows you to level up.
It actually doesn’t lag in game.
Except that (I’m sorry!!!) the graphics is a huge eye-sore.

Now.. remind me why the game was in such a huge hype before??!!

The Secret World Beta Invite

Got the invite 2 days ago.

Was pretty interested in the game when I saw it being advertised last year.
Not sure what to expect.
Didn’t really understand what the mechanics were when I skimmed through a couple of aspects when I signed up for the closed beta a long time ago.

I’ll give it a go and have a look.

“The third Beta Weekend for The Secret World starts on June 15th, and for nearly three days you will get to explore and enjoy more of the game than ever before.

You can continue your progress from the last beta phase as your character has been saved. If you want to participate in this Beta Weekend and the Beta Weekend starting June 22nd, all you need to do is pre-order the game!

Your adventures in this Beta Weekend will take you beyond Kingsmouth and into a massive new region known as The Savage Coast. Here you will soon discover that the very gates of hell have opened up, inviting you into an epic dungeon experience known as ‘Hell Raised’. But that’s not the only dungeon available; a wrecked supertanker known as ‘The Polaris’ has been spotted off the coast of Solomon Island.

The game has received significant enhancements since the last Beta Weekend, with improved content, gameplay mechanics and performance. In addition you will get to experience the updated combat system as well as full DirectX 11 graphics! We are very excited to share all this with you.

The Secret World Beta Weekend #3: Hell Raised starts at 9am PST on June 15th and lasts until 11.59pm PST on June 17th.”

Apparently, they’re also using what Tera did with their beta sessions.
It’s the in-thing marketing regime now I guess.

It used to be months of endless closed beta then open beta but FREE.
Then it changed to weekly beta or chosen weeks of a few months closed beta then open beta but FREE.
Then it changed to weekly beta but you only get one weekend to test it and you’d have to pre-order else you can’t continue playing where you stopped if you don’t have a new beta key.
