Tomorrow is the first day of a brand new year. Tomorrow you get to become anyone in the world that you wish. Who are you? You can choose to be anyone, alive today or someone gone long ago. If you decide to stay “you” share your rationale.
Photographers, artists, poets: show us METAMORPHOSIS.
I would be spoiled for choice if I was “forced” to choose one.
I wouldn’t want to particularly live and be in the life of just one person.
It would be picking the strengths and positive aspects of each person I’ve admired, respected and loved, whether they’re still breathing or history has written the last words of their lives.
We learn from others as we age.
Starting from when we were in our mother’s wombs.
From our guardians, friends and foes, people surrounding us, people who are a million miles away, yet, we’re watching their every moves and hear every words they say…
Or reading of their biography and learn of their feats and falls.
Then, we learn that we have choices.
That even if we were to learn something, it might turn out to either be of a good or bad choice.
So, you pick up wisps of those knowledge and skills that you wish to earn and keep with time.
Time will tell.
As your life is written out in your own book, following the adventures of your ups and downs.
The time you laughed with those you cared for, the moment you cried when you lost something, the event you stood up for your beliefs even when others shun upon your actions.
When it starts to feel like you’ve lost everything, you’re breaking up inside, with time, you’ll evolve and change with the next choices and steps that you take.
Why was your choice to be someone else?
Because they were…
Rich with money or knowledge?
Famous or Infamous?
Beautiful skin-deep or the inside?
Honoured or Respected?
Strong in Faith or Beliefs?
But, would you have partaken their faults as well?
Did you know that they were from a broken family or had their heart bleeding so many times?
Lost a part of them or their physical limbs?
That they were going insane on the inside and keeping mum of their depression and giving up hope silently?
A lost soul.
Forgoing wealth in exchange for time and energy for others.
That they gave up something in return of another.
Just that one day.
It will change you if you’ve never been in their footsteps to be where they are and who they’ve been.
A real knock on your emotions if you’ve never been where they’ve been.
Are you ready for that?
But, you know what?
For the sake of simplicity and naivety of one who can only dream…
No one’s stopping you from being whoever you want to be.
If you do choose to be someone, hopefully, you’ll learn a thing or two from them in that one day.
It might prove to be a good first-hand experience.
To answer the “question”.
I would stay me.
With all that I am.
Faults and whatnot.
What I see through my own eyes and walking through my own path that is written specially for me.
Whether it begets the beauty or ugliness of my own reflection.
How quickly or slowly I try to mimic someone’s personality or character does not matter.
Everyone ends up somewhere… somehow… as someone.
But, what kind of someone do you want to be?
