Garden of Baphomet – Hard Mode – Cleared 4/4

Guildies had already downed Baphomet – Hard Mode last week… was it last week or the week before?
Hummm… must be last week… ’cause I joined last week.

So, they pretty much know how the boss fight mechanics go.
We did it last night and one of our priests obtained his epic weapon.

I wish I can get my set soon.
Guild Leader only needs like.. what?.. 1 or 2 items left to his epic set inclusive of accessories?
OP wizard.

He reminds me of the thingy below…

Remember that time Gandalf convinced the whole party to flee so that he could take out the Balrog and not have to share any of the XP? Shows up the next session with fancy new robes and everything. What a jerk.

Standard caster-style play, you need all those new spells

Told him that he was evil and had tricked me into his guild.
He’s not bad..  he’s actually (surprisingly) quite a fair and good GL… but… still evil.. I tell ya~
So far, I’ve seen 3 good team leaders including our GL to lead raids in our guild.

By the way.. just a fact.. if you hear the abbreviation HM, it simply means Hard Mode. 😀

Ok.. it’s been a while since I did this, so I can’t recall the name of the mobs, but, I’ll give a description of them as much as I can.

Pull out the 2 Minos one by one, no difference in which one you take first, and kill them.
Place your team around the big radius.
Everyone has to be (if my memory serves me right) 20m from each other.
Make sure that one priest is on either end of the radius, near enough to heal their respective tank (there should be 2 tanks).
Wiz and Sorc can stand around 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, to freeze the “mini flame” constantly and dps them straight away.
Tanks will need to take turns to tank Bapho.

The reason why you’d have to stand 20m away from each other is because of his “breath”.
The nearer you are to each other, the more damage it hits when all are in a stack, making the dmg +++
Not only that.
For range, do not stand directly in front of a melee.
No matter what, a melee will be hit and if you are directly behind him (in a straight line).. poof.. the dmg ++ will add up and count your lucky stars if you’re still alive.
So, move when you must… but always stay a distance from your neighbors.

Now, for the boss fight.
Once tank has started his taunt, range dps will dps from outside the middle circle radius and melee.. go ahead and run in front to dps.
Remember the distance between sides and front/back.

Once the “mini flames” has spawned, wiz/sorc freezes them constantly and dps before it reaches Bapho.
Tanks will take turns in tanking Bapho and the 2 Mino
After that, dps back to Bapho.
Once Bapho does his aoe thingy (no idea what it’s called but you’ll notice it anyway)… start dps on the 2 Mino, doesn’t seem to have effect on which one you kill first.
After that, concentrate back on Bapho.

Rinse and repeat.

Now comes the part 2.
The “Kamikaze bombers” will be added to the fight, in addition to MORE “mini flames”.
Best if everyone has the widest view of the place, so you can see where the bombers are.
Avoid them like a plague!
Once you’re near their radius, the whole raid dies and you’ll have to do it again.
So, everyone’s full attention matters.

Once you got that going…
Groups of mobs will be spawned.. everyone will start panicking.. but, this is where you have to burst dps even if you’re dying.
Every dps counts.
If one of the tanks can take the mobs, aoe-ers can dps the mobs quickly, while the rest are on boss.
A huge flame should appear any moment in time during that portion of the fight.
Tank it… there was once when there was only one tank, one healer, one sorc and me left.. the sorc kited the flame (heal and dps) while the 3 of us were on Bapho to the end.

Remember the basic rules of where to stand.

So, yeah.. burst dps and that’s about it.
If you guys can spinel at that time, please do… every dps is needed to finish the fight.

Not sure if I’ve missed something out, but that’s as much as I can remember.
So, Good luck~

I’m in no way good in this and this probably isn’t the only way to do it.

You’d have to understand that the reason why people do not share these kind of strategies because it is an achievement they have worked hard to achieve and would feel like all their time and effort would have just gone in the drain, once they share their strats to others who only need to simply copy/learn via others.
The only reason why I’ve decided to say this is because the COA and Colo gears are out and are way better than Bapho Hard-Mode gear.

Plus, congrats to my ex-guild, Aphotic, on finishing Arena HM and Baphomet HM.
I do have to thank those who taught me.
You guys are so competitive that I was pretty left out.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

    • Hi Anna! ^_^

Unlike Normal-mode, the 2 minos will spawn a few times depending on how fast the hp of bapho drops and goes into the next phase. Normal-mode = kill once. If you do pull them out, then the 2 tanks will have a hard time rotating between bapho and the 2 minos, plus, you could risk yourself in getting into the wrong position, but, who knows… there could be another alternative way that no one else wants to share ^_^
